So it has been a long while since I've posted anything, but here is a banner I created for the Travel Darkly website, which you can visit here: travel darkly.com

The banner features hand-rendered font, along with illustrations and a bit of Photoshop wizardry.

Here's a sneak peak of what I've been working on for Tiny Pencil's summer edition, Death and Resurrection.  A lot of pencils were harmed in the making of this image. The rest of the image will soon be in printed format and on sale via Tiny Pencil.

Monday 30 September 2013

I was asked by Tiny Pencil magazine to do a spread for their Summer Issue, 'Mammals, Monsters and Mars.'  The only hitch was it had to be drawn in pencil.  I never draw in pencil as I am such a smudger and am not the best shader there is but I gave it a go.  It was a fun experience and I was shown how to work with spot colouring, something that I could never quite get my head around on my own.  Below is my spread from the Mammals section.  (I also feature in the Monsters section). And although I am completely biased I urge everyone to purchase a copy. After all, how many magazines come  with a stamped edition number, colouring pencils, dice and stickers?

I have been spending the last few weeks tweaking one of my books, 'Mr Wolf's Something Brand New Dinner Party.'  This double page spread has changed quite a lot from its original state.  Only 10 more pages to go...

Monday 2 September 2013

Having recently moved it's been a while since I posted anything, so here are a couple of screen prints.  The first one is titled, 'Geology Rocks,' and the second, 'Eye Spy.' Hopefully some more science based images will follow shortly.

Friday 5 July 2013

Over the last few days I have been getting excited about the letterpress room.  My interest at the moment is the collection of mainly wooden exclamation marks.  These have all been printed by hand and not by press hence why they appear a little patchy.  Hats and moustaches have been inked on afterwards.  What spiffing fun.

Ohh Deer have created a competition which in part involves designing phone cases.  One of mine (shown below) can be purchased here: http://ohhdeer.com/triangle-0 There are lots of other great designs, notably, Meg McLaren's:http://ohhdeer.com/rawk and Tamsin Gilbert's:http://ohhdeer.com/design-2

A few spreads from my book 'Monsieur Oeuf Travels in Style.'  A tale about an egg with a passion for travel, and a wife who finally cracks.

Below is my very own screen-printed wrapping paper featuring lots of slightly evil looking squirrels.
(Inside is Cranium).

Myself and the fantastically talented Valentina Mendicino with our awards at this years Macmillan's Prize at Foyles Gallery London.

Sunday 12 May 2013

Here is a snapshot of a series of book cover ideas I created working with screen-print.  There are only four in existence. Possibly only three now as after the Bologna Book Fair one had mysteriously vanished....

Below are a couple of close up shots.  My personal favourite is 'The Mouse The Bird & The Sausage.'  Sausages just don't appear enough on book covers.

Sunday 14 April 2013

Playing around with the lithography press.  I may have drawn a few too many ribs than is technically correct.

Friday 22 February 2013

So this week I have been mostly drawing sausages.  Of the dog variety naturally.

I'm pretty sure more sausage dog based prints will follow shortly.

Top - Three colour screen-print.  Bottom - Four colour screen-print.

So my experimentation with alphabets continues.  Here is what can only only be cheekily described as a two colour screen-print.

Yet another screen-print for your perusal.
